Official “LOTTO MAX Dream Big”
Rules and Regulations



The LOTTO MAX Dream Big event (the “Event”) is sponsored by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (the “ILC”), the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (the “BCLC”), the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (the “WCLC”), the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (the “OLG”), Loto-Québec (“LQ”), and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (the “ALC”), collectively referred to in these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Event Rules”) as the “Sponsors”. Each of BCLC, WCLC, OLG, LQ, and ALC is a “Lottery Corporation”. The Event is supported by Splashdot, Inc. (“Splashdot”), acting on behalf of the Sponsors for the purposes of managing this Event (collectively, the Sponsors and Splashdot are the “Event Parties”).

The Event commences on September 5, 2024 at 3:00 a.m. eastern daylight time (the “Event Start Date”) and ends on October 21, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. eastern daylight time (the “Event End Date”). By entering this Event, entrants accept and agree to be legally bound by these Event Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors, which are final, binding (without right of appeal), and conclusive on all matters related to this Event.

  1. ELIGIBILITY
    1. The Event is open to all residents of Canada who are the legal age to purchase lottery products in their respective province or territory (an “Eligible Participant”).
    2. Notwithstanding section 1.1, the Event is not open to:
      1. employees (including full-time, part-time and student employees; persons who are directly on payroll; and employees who are on paid or unpaid leave), officers, directors, representatives or agents (and those with whom any of the foregoing persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of:
        1. ILC, BCLC, WCLC, OLG or ALC;
        2. the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission, Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation, Saskatchewan Lotteries, Lotteries Yukon, NWT & Nunavut Lotteries, NWT Sport and Recreation Council, Sport North, Northwest Territories Lottery Commission, New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation, New Brunswick Gaming Control and Licensing Services, Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation, Nova Scotia Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division, Prince Edward Island Lotteries Commission, or a shareholder of the ALC that is directly involved with the affairs of the ALC;
        3. Splashdot (excluding residents of Québec);
        4. the respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies of any of the foregoing parties mentioned in sections 1.2.1.1 through 1.2.1.3; or
        5. any entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration, judging or fulfillment of the Event (excluding residents of Québec).
    3. A “Lottery Retailer” means (i) a person contracted by a Lottery Corporation to sell lottery tickets and provide lottery services at a retail location (a “Retailer”); (ii) a Retailer’s directors and officers; and (iii) employees of a Retailer who at any point during the Event Entry Period (defined in section 2.1 below) have been or are in any manner engaged in, or who directly manage or supervise those engaged in any manner in, the handling of lottery tickets, including without limitation, the activation, sale, validation or redemption of lottery tickets. Notwithstanding section 1.1, the Event is not open to:
      1. BCLC’s Lottery Retailers, WCLC’s Lottery Retailers (except for purchases of a valid LOTTO MAX ticket through the Lotto Spot App, PlayNow Manitoba, PlayAlberta or a subscription), or OLG’s Lottery Retailers (except for purchases of a valid LOTTO MAX ticket from the location of another Lottery Retailer).
      2. ALC’s Lottery Retailers and any distributors, subject to the same prohibition on handling of lottery tickets as for Lottery Retailers, except for purchases of a valid LOTTO MAX ticket on alc.ca.
    4. For residents of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and notwithstanding section 1.1, the Event is not open to a person that currently, or at any point during the previous two (2) month period prior to the Event Start Date, has employment or contractual terms with ALC or an entity with a business relationship with ALC that specifically prohibits the person from purchasing or playing ALC’s products eligible to participate in this Event.
    5. Individuals must comply with any applicable “no play at work” policy in order to be an Eligible Participant.
  1. HOW TO PARTICIPATE
    1. The Event runs from the Event Start Date to the Event End Date (the “Event Entry Period”).
    2. An Eligible Participant can enter the Event using an eligible LOTTO MAX ticket purchased in the province/territory of their residence covered by their local Lottery Corporation during the Event Entry Period (an “Eligible LOTTO MAX Play”), or a No LOTTO MAX Play Necessary method of entry (an “NPN Entry”). For the purpose of Eligible Participants residing in Ontario, an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play shall be defined as including only an in-store purchase of an eligible LOTTO MAX ticket during the Event Entry Period, as further set out in Section 3.5.
    3. An Eligible Participant’s purchase of a physical LOTTO MAX ticket outside of the province/territory of their residence covered by their local Lottery Corporation is not an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play and cannot be used to earn entries in the Event.
    4. Eligible Entry

      Each $5 spent on an entered Eligible LOTTO MAX Play earns five (5) entries that can be entered to the Event, and each entered NPN Entry earns five (5) entries that can be entered to the Event (each, an “Eligible Entry”). Eligible Entries that are automatically entered into the Event (as outlined in sections 3 and 4 below) are entered into the applicable weekly draw for the week in which they are purchased or, in the case of an NPN Entry, entered into the applicable weekly draw for the week in which they are processed, and are also entered into the grand prize draw. Eligible Entries that must be manually entered into the Event by an Eligible Participant (as outlined in sections 3 and 4 below) are entered into the applicable weekly draw for the week in which they are inputted by the participant, as well as entered into the grand prize draw once inputted into the applicable weekly draw.
    5. For clarity, the following purchase methods and/or occurrences will not be considered an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play and cannot be used to earn entries in the Event:
      1. Free Play;
      2. TAG, Twist, Extra, Encore, Québec Max and Western Max purchased with LOTTO MAX;
      3. Any replacement ticket (or for residents of Québec, replacement ticket when the original has been entered);
      4. Any cancelled ticket; or
      5. Any ticket purchased or entry received before the Event Start Date or after the Event End Date.
    6. Note: For residents of British Columbia, and residents of Manitoba who purchase an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online through PlayNow Manitoba, you must first enter a promo code via your PlayNow account to opt-in to the Event in order to be eligible to enter the Event using an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play or an NPN Entry (for residents of British Columbia) or using an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play (for residents of Manitoba who purchase an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online through PlayNow Manitoba).
  1. ENTERING AN ELIGIBLE LOTTO MAX PLAY
    1. Enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play in your province/territory as outlined below.
    2. ALC
      1. Retail Entry:
        1. Enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased in store. Sign in or register for an alc.ca account on alc.ca or on 2Chance.ca and click “Enter Tickets” on the 2Chance.ca website. Enter the unique twenty-five- (25)-character alphanumeric code printed underneath the 2Chance logo on the bottom of the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play.
        2. Scan an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play on 2Chance.ca using a mobile device camera to enter the ticket in the Event. You will need to allow 2Chance.ca access to your mobile device camera in order to scan your Eligible LOTTO MAX Play on 2Chance.ca.
        3. Download the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, sign-in to your alc.ca account, open the ticket checker and scan your Eligible LOTTO MAX Play. The entries will be automatically entered. If you are not signed-in to the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App and you scan an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play, it will prompt you to sign-in. When you successfully sign-in to the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, the last Eligible LOTTO MAX Play you scanned will be automatically entered. By signing-in to the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App and scanning your Eligible LOTTO MAX Play, you consent to entering the Event.
      2. Online Entry:
        1. Earn entries from an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased online from alc.ca or the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App by signing-in or registering for an alc.ca account, either on alc.ca or 2Chance.ca. If you do not wish to enter the Event, you must purchase your LOTTO MAX tickets offline through ALC’s retail partners for the duration of the Event. By purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online on alc.ca or on the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, participants consent to entering the Event. Please allow up to twenty-four (24) hours after purchase for entries to appear in your “Dream Big Event” tally on 2Chance.ca.

          Note: Participants will be able to track the status of earning entries on 2Chance.ca under “Dream Big History” when signed-in to their 2Chance.ca account.
    3. BCLC
      1. Retail Entry:
        1. Scan an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play on the BCLC Dream Big Event website using a mobile device camera to enter the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play in the Event. You will need to allow the BCLC Dream Big Event website access to your mobile device camera in order to scan the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play.

          Note: Participants will be able to track the number of entries from retail Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchases in their “Dream Big (Tech the Halls or Crossword) Event” account.
      2. Online Entry:
        1. Earn entries from an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased online from PlayNow.com or on the BCLC Mobile App by signing-in or registering for a PlayNow.com account and opting-in by entering a promo code (promo code and step-by-step details provided on PlayNow Promotions page at https://www.playnow.com/lottery/promotions/lotto-max-dream-big/). Once opted-in, all Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchases will be automatically entered into the Event. By purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online on PlayNow.com or on the BCLC Mobile App, participants consent to entering the Event. Please allow up to seven (7) days after purchase for entries to appear on your PlayNow “My Promotions” page.

          Note: Participants will be able to track the status of earning entries from their PlayNow purchases on the “Promotions History” page when signed-in to their PlayNow account.
    4. Loto-Québec
      1. Retail Entry:
        1. Enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased in store. Sign-in or create an account on lotoquebec.com to enter the Event. Once signed-in, enter the control number that is on the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play at the lotoquebec.com/2chance website, or scan the QR code using the ticket checker on the Lotteries Mobile App.
      2. Online Entry:
        1. Earn entries automatically from an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased online from lotoquebec.com or on the Lotteries Mobile App. Sign-in or create an account on lotoquebec.com before purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online. By purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online, participants consent to entering the Event.

          Note: Participants will be able to track the number of entries earned for each Eligible LOTTO MAX Play under the “My Entries” tab on the lotoquebec.com/2chance website when they are signed-in to their account.
    5. OLG (In-Store Purchase Only)
      1. Eligible Participants residing in Ontario can only participate in this Event through the purchase of an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play at a participating OLG retailer in Ontario, or through an NPN Entry. Online purchases of LOTTO MAX tickets on OLG.ca are not eligible for this Event and will not result in any entries. In order to participate in this Event through a retail purchase of an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play, Eligible Participants must take the following steps:
        1. To enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play, sign-in or sign up for a Winner’s Edge account and click “Enter Tickets” on the OLG Dream Big Event website at https://lottomaxdreambig.OLG.ca (the OLG Event Website).
        2. Enter Eligible LOTTO MAX Play either by scanning from your mobile phone or manually entering from your mobile device or computer, following instructions on the OLG Event Website. Event submissions must meet requirements for valid entry and are subject to review by OLG. Any submissions deemed by OLG in its sole discretion as fraudulent or otherwise containing any incorrect information (including, without limitation, as to the value of any Eligible LOTTO MAX Play) will be rendered void and the participant will be disqualified from the Event and will not be eligible to win any prize. Participants must allow the OLG Event Website access to their mobile device camera to scan an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play.
        3. For manual entry, participants must complete all required fields on the entry form to receive entries into the Event.

          Note: Participants will be able to track the number of entries earned for each Eligible LOTTO MAX Play through the Dream Big tracker when signed-in to their Dream Big Winners Edge account.
    6. WCLC
      1. Retail Entry and Lotto Spot App Entry:
        1. To enter an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased in store or on the Lotto Spot App, sign-in or sign up for an MVP account, click “Enter Tickets” on the WCLC Dream Big Event website and either:
          1. Enter the unique eighteen- (18)-digit ticket control number from the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play; or
          2. Scan the retail Eligible LOTTO MAX Play on the WCLC Dream Big Event website using a mobile device camera to enter the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play in the Event. Participants will need to allow the WCLC Dream Big Event website access to their mobile device camera in order to scan the Eligible LOTTO MAX Play.
        2. Participants must complete all required fields on the entry form to submit and complete the entries and ensure that the information in all fields is correct. Any incorrect ticket information submitted may result in disqualification.
        3. All entries from an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play will be verified to ensure they are from valid LOTTO MAX tickets. Participants must keep their tickets in order to claim a prize for the Event.

          Note: Participants can view the number of entries from retail or Lotto Spot App Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchases in their MVP account.
      2. PlayNow Manitoba Entry:
        1. Earn entries from an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play purchased on PlayNow.com by signing-in or registering for a PlayNow.com account and opting-in by entering a promo code (promo code and step-by-step details provided on PlayNow Promotions page https://www.playnow.com/lottery/promotions/lotto-max-dream-big/). Once opted-in, all Eligible LOTTO MAX Plays purchased on PlayNow.com will be entered automatically into the Event. By opting-in and purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online on PlayNow.com, participants consent to entering the Event. Please allow up to seven (7) days after purchase for entries to appear on your PlayNow “My Promotions” page.

          Note: Participants will be able to track the status of earning entries from their PlayNow purchases on their “Promotions History” page when they are signed-in to their account.
      3. PlayAlberta Entry:
        1. Sign-in or register for a PlayAlberta.ca account and earn Event entries from purchases of Eligible LOTTO MAX Plays on PlayAlberta.ca. See PlayAlberta.ca “Promotions” page https://playalberta.ca/promotions/lotto-max-dream-big. By purchasing an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play online on PlayAlberta.ca, participants consent to entering the Event. All Eligible LOTTO MAX Plays purchased on PlayAlberta.ca will be entered automatically into the Event.
      4. All Lottery Corporations
        1. Eligible advance play LOTTO MAX tickets purchased in store during the Event Entry Period may earn entries in the Event for the applicable weekly draw for the week in which they are inputted by the participant, as well as entered into the grand prize draw once inputted into the applicable weekly draw.
        2. Eligible advance play LOTTO MAX tickets purchased online during the Event Entry Period (excluding residents of Ontario) may earn entries in the Event for the applicable weekly draw when purchased by the participant, as well as entered into the grand prize draw.
  1. ENTERING AN NPN ENTRY
    1. The purchase of an Eligible LOTTO MAX Play will not improve or affect the chances of winning compared to an NPN Entry.
    2. To participate with an NPN Entry, write a unique one hundred (100) word or more handwritten essay explaining “What would I do if I won one million dollars?” (the “Essay”). No mechanical or digital reproduction permitted.
    3. Mail the Essay to the address listed below based on your province or territory of residence, along with the additional information required by your local Lottery Corporation. The Essay must be received by your local Lottery Corporation by local close of business on October 15, 2024 in order to be processed before the Event End Date. Limit of one Essay per envelope. Your local Lottery Corporation is not responsible for delay or non-delivery.
    4. Any Essay that does not comply with the Event Rules may be deemed ineligible to earn entries into the Event at the absolute and unfettered discretion of the local Lottery Corporation.
    5. An Eligible Participant earns five (5) entries in the applicable weekly draw and five (5) entries in the grand prize draw for each eligible, unique Essay received.

      ALC information required and submission process: Include with your Essay the participant’s first and last name, age, and valid email address associated to your alc.ca account. If you submit your Essay in compliance with the Event Rules, an NPN Entry online code will be delivered to the email address you provided, and you must then manually enter the code(s) on 2Chance.ca to earn the five (5) entries in the applicable weekly draw and the grand prize draw. Requests for an NPN Entry online code that do not indicate a valid email address associated with an alc.ca account will be ineligible to receive an NPN Entry online code.
  1. PRIZES AND DRAWS
    1. There will be six (6) weekly draws and one (1) grand prize draw for this Event. The total prize value for the six (6) weekly draws and the grand prize draw is $2,800,000.
    2. For each weekly draw, thirty (30) winners will be selected from Eligible Entries received during each applicable weekly draw period. Each weekly winner is eligible for a cash prize of $10,000. There are a total of one hundred and eighty (180) weekly cash prizes for the Event.
    3. The weekly draws will occur as follows (each a “Draw Date”), or as soon as reasonably possible after the respective Draw Date:

    4. There will be one (1) grand prize of $1,000,000 selected from all Eligible Entries received during the Event Entry Period. The Eligible Entries for all weekly draws participate in the grand prize draw. The grand prize draw will occur on Friday, October 25, 2024 (the “Grand Prize Draw Date”), or as soon as reasonably possible after the Grand Prize Draw Date.
    5. The odds of winning a prize in a weekly draw will depend upon the total number of Eligible Entries entered during the applicable week entry period. The odds of winning the grand prize draw will depend upon the total number of Eligible Entries entered during the Event Entry Period.
    6. There is no prize allocation based on geography.
    7. Draws for each weekly Draw Date and the Grand Prize Draw Date will be conducted electronically by the ILC using a certified random number generator.
    8. Each Eligible Entry for a weekly draw may only win one (1) prize during that weekly draw, and is not eligible for any other weekly draw. However, Eligible Entries may win one (1) weekly prize and the grand prize.
      Weekly Draws
    9. At the time of draw on each weekly Draw Date (excluding the Grand Prize Draw Date), thirty (30) entries will be drawn as potential winners from the Eligible Entries entered during the applicable week entry period. If the entry is void or the participant is disqualified for any reason by a Sponsor, or if the participant does not respond to the local Lottery Corporation within five (5) business days, does not prove their identity, or does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question, then the Sponsors reserve the right in their absolute and unfettered discretion to select an additional, alternate entry from among the remaining Eligible Entries received during the applicable week entry period.
      Grand Prize Draw
    10. At the time of draw on the Grand Prize Draw Date, one (1) entry will be drawn as the potential winner from all Eligible Entries entered during the Event Entry Period. If the entry is void or the participant is disqualified for any reason by a Sponsor, or if the participant does not respond to the local Lottery Corporation within five (5) business days, does not prove their identity, or does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question, then the Sponsors reserve the right in their absolute and unfettered discretion to select an additional, alternate entry from among the remaining Eligible Entries received during the Event Entry Period.
  1. WINNERS AND NOTIFICATIONS
    1. Potential winners must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in these Event Rules to be declared a winner by their local Lottery Corporation and to be eligible to claim a prize.
    2. Potential winners will be notified by their local Lottery Corporation using the contact information provided in the account with the local Lottery Corporation or provided at the time of entry. Potential winners will be contacted by the local Lottery Corporation as soon as reasonably possible following the applicable weekly Draw Date or the Grand Prize Draw Date, as applicable (the “Initial Contact”).
    3. Proof of eligibility, including identity, age and residency, will be required from all potential winners prior to disbursement of any Event prize. For residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut, potential winners must also produce the original Eligible LOTTO MAX Play corresponding to the entry drawn to be eligible to claim a prize, as applicable. Eligibility decisions with respect to potential winners are made by the local Lottery Corporation and are final.
    4. The potential winner must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid in order to be named the winner and to receive the applicable prize. If the potential winner fails to correctly answer, unaided, the time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, then the Sponsors shall have the right to automatically disqualify the entry (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable prize).
    5. Before being declared a confirmed winner and eligible to claim a prize, the potential winner must sign and return a declaration and release which may include:
      1. Confirmation of compliance with these Event Rules;
      2. Acknowledgment of acceptance of the applicable prize as awarded;
      3. Release of the Event Parties, and their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assignees and all other persons or entities connected with the Event from any and all liability in connection with this Event, the potential winner’s participation in this Event and/or the awarding and use/misuse of any prize or any portion thereof;
      4. Release of Facebook, Instagram and X (the “Social Media Platforms”), and acknowledgment that the Event was not sponsored, endorsed or administered by the Social Media Platforms; and
      5. Confirmation of agreement to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of their name, address (city and province only) and photograph without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsors in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet.
    6. If the potential winner’s eligibility information and declaration and release is not received by the local Lottery Corporation within five (5) business days after the Initial Contact, the local Lottery Corporation shall have the right to automatically disqualify the entry (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable prize).
    7. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. If the potential winner cannot, or is for any reason unable to, accept a prize as awarded for any reason, then the potential winner will be disqualified (and will forfeit all rights to the prize) and the ILC and/or the local Lottery Corporation reserve the right, in its absolute and unfettered discretion, to select a potential winner from among the remaining Eligible Entries entered during the applicable week entry period in the case of a weekly prize or, in the case of the grand prize, from among the remaining Eligible Entries entered during the Event Entry Period (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to the newly selected potential winner).
    8. In the event of a ‘group play’, each local Lottery Corporation will act in accordance with its own applicable policies and procedures. The Sponsors assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the entitlement to any prize of any group, or group member. By participating in the Event, each Eligible Participant acting for a group fully agrees to and accepts these Event Rules.
  1. BREAK AND SELF-EXCLUSION
    1. Your participation in this Event may be subject to any break or self-exclusion you have made with your local Lottery Corporation. In these cases, the policies of your local Lottery Corporation on breaks or self-exclusion, as applicable, shall apply to your participation in this Event. Entries earned prior to the self-exclusion status may still be eligible to participate in the applicable weekly draw and grand prize draw.   1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
    1. By entering the Event, Eligible Participants agree that in no event will the Event Parties or the Social Media Platforms, and their respective affiliates and their respective members, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors, subcontractors, insurers and assigns, (collectively, the “Released Parties”) be responsible or liable for, and Eligible Participants hereby release such Released Parties from, any and all claims, actions, damages, losses, costs, expenses or liability of any kind (including, but not limited to, property damage, personal injuries and/or death, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, and counsel fees and court costs) arising or resulting from anything relating to or including, but not limited to:
      1. the production, administration or execution of the Event (or the Eligible Participants’ participation in the Event);
      2. use of or problems with any function of any website related to the Event or materials on any website howsoever caused;
      3. any lost, stolen, delayed, not received, destroyed, damaged, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, fraudulent or late entries requests or other information, and all such entries will be void and not eligible;
      4. any failure, interruption, or delay to receive entries for any reason (including by mail or email or other communication) or technical failures or errors of any kind;
      5. any functionality lost due to not having cookies enabled or traffic congestion on the Internet;
      6. selection, announcement, acceptance, possession, use, misuse, or non-use of any prize winner or any prize awarded;
      7. any injury or damage to an Eligible Participant’s or to any other person’s computer system(s) due to viruses or breaches of privacy from interference by third-party computers (or “hackers”), including the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks;
      8. the malfunction of, or damage caused to, any telephone network or lines, computer equipment, data or software, online systems, servers or access providers;
      9. any unauthorized access, tampering, hacking, theft, destruction, computer viruses, time bombs, logic bombs and any other devices of a like or similar nature that may arise or occur in connection with the Event; and
      10. any other technical or human error in the receipt or processing of entries, or other submissions (whether to or from) or otherwise related to the production, administration or execution of the Event.
    2. The Released Parties are not responsible or liable for commencing, continuing or completing a draw or awarding prizes, including and without limitation in the following circumstances: (i) a regulatory body with authority over the Event, or over any of the Released Parties, has reservations of a regulatory nature about any element of the Event, or in any of the Released Parties offering or operating the Event; (ii) if doing so will result in the Event not being administered as intended by the Event Rules; or (iii) if doing so may adversely affect the fairness, integrity or reputation of the Event or the integrity or reputation of any of the Released Parties, all in the ILC’s absolute and unfettered discretion.
    3. Eligible Participants agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, losses, costs and expenses, including legal costs and fees, arising from or related to any entry in the Event and/or any breach of any of the Event Rules.
    4. The Released Parties will not be liable for the failure of any entry, request or other information to be received, captured or recorded for any reason. In no event will the Released Parties be liable to award more than one hundred and eighty (180) weekly prizes and one (1) grand prize and do not accept responsibility, in whole or in part, for loss, damage or injury, howsoever caused in connection with the weekly prizes or the grand prize or the conduct of the Event.
  1. GENERAL CONDITIONS
    1. By entering the Event, Eligible Participants confirm that they have read and agree to abide by these Event Rules.
    2. The decision(s) of the Sponsors are final and binding on all matters relating to the Event including, but not limited to, the administration of the Event, the determination of the eligibility of any entry, the selection of potential winners, and the award of any prize.
    3. If the potential winner is found to have entered falsified or incorrect information, including in respect of any ticket information entered manually on any Event website for the purpose of entering the Event, and/or if the potential winner does not meet eligibility requirements, or does not have an account in good standing with their Lottery Corporation, that person and all of their entries will be disqualified and the person will not be eligible to win an Event prize.
    4. The Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any participant from the Event that they find to be tampering with entries or the draw process, acting in violation of these Event Rules, or acting in any manner that could reasonably be perceived as potentially adversely affecting the fairness, integrity or reputation of the Event.
    5. All entries become the property of the Sponsors and will not be returned.
    6. Participants who submit an NPN Entry waive for the benefit of the Sponsors all moral rights in respect of the minimum one hundred (100) word essay.
    7. Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the operation of this Event or a draw is a violation of criminal and civil laws. The Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution, for any such attempt.
    8. The Sponsors reserve the right to cancel the Event, in whole or in part, or to delay the Event for any reason whatsoever and without prior notice, including in cases of fortuitous events or force majeur.
    9. The Sponsors may amend these Event Rules at any time, in which case the amended rules will be made available to the public.
    10. By entering this Event, each Eligible Participant consents to the collection, use and distribution of their personal information (information that identifies an Eligible Participant as an individual, such as telephone number, and address) by the Lottery Corporations and Splashdot for the purposes of implementing, administering and fulfilling this Event. Each Lottery Corporation is committed to ensuring the privacy of their participants and taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure participant information is safeguarded in accordance with its privacy policy. The Lottery Corporations will only use or disclose the personal information of entrants for the specific purposes for which it was collected, including but not limited to the administration of the Event and/or account creation, unless required by law, and will only retain the information long enough to fulfill the purposes for which the personal information was collected.     11. These Event Rules govern the Event. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the provisions of these Event Rules and the provisions of any other contractual agreement for this Event which cannot be resolved by both provisions being complied with, the provisions contained in these Event Rules will prevail to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.
    12. These Event Rules are subject to, and governed by, the laws of the province/territory in which the LOTTO MAX ticket was issued. In all other cases, these Event Rules are subject to, and governed by, the laws of the province/territory in which the participant is a legal resident.
    13. Participants of the Event irrevocably attorn and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the province/territory in which the LOTTO MAX ticket was issued in any action or proceeding arising out of, or relating to, these Event Rules. In all other cases, participants of the Event irrevocably attorn and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of their province/territory of residence in any action or proceeding arising out of, or relating to, these Event Rules. Participants waive objection to the venue of any action or proceeding in such court or any argument that such court provides an inconvenient forum.
    14. For residents of Québec, any dispute related to the management of the Event and awarding of prizes will be settled according to these Event Rules and the Sales promotion games By-law (CQLR, c. S-13.1, r. 4).
    15. In the event any provision of these Event Rules, of the conditions and explanations appearing on a ticket or of such conditions as are established by the Sponsors are determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be void or unenforceable, such determination shall solely affect such provision and shall not, in itself, render void or unenforceable the remaining provisions thereof.
