OFFICIAL 2CHANCE RULES AND REGULATIONS
(EFFECTIVE 12:00 AM AT, APRIL 1, 2022)

ATLANTIC LOTTERY CORPORATION

Effective 12:00 AM AT, on April 1, 2022 (“Effective Date”), the following official Rules and Regulations apply to the Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s ("ALC") 2CHANCE CONTEST (the Contest) which provides a second chance at winning for players of certain ALC products (as specified below). This Contest previously ran from April 1, 2021 at 1:15:00 AM AT until March 31, 2022 at 11:59:59 PM AT (“Previous Contest”). As of the Effective Date 12:00 AM AT, on April 1, 2022 this Contest will continue to be open and run continuously without a specified end date, subject to these Official Rules and Regulations (Effective April 1, 2022). The Contest will continue to continuously run without an end date until ALC specifies otherwise. On or shortly after the Effective Date, all entries from the Previous Contest will automatically be transferred over into this Contest and be able to participate in this Contest subject to these Rules and Regulations.

Please read the alc.ca Terms of Service and these Rules and Regulations in full before registering for an alc.ca account or entering the 2Chance Contest. Registration and Contest entry constitutes your full agreement and acceptance of these Rules and Regulations.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to win a participant must have a verified alc.ca account and a verified 2Chance.ca account, must be a legal resident of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and be 19 years of age or older at the time of entry and at the time of the applicable draw(s) from which the participant’s entry was drawn.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, this Contest is not open to anyone who at any point during the Contest Period fell into one of the categories below (and the following people are not eligible to win):

  1. ALC’s directors, officers and employees;
  2. ALC ticket lottery retailers who at any time enter any lottery tickets/products that are not purchased or acquired by the retailer from alc.ca to attempt to participate or gain entries in this Contest, and such retailers will not be eligible to enter or participate in any manner and cannot be entitled to receive any prize in this Contest at any time. NOTE: Retailers who have not entered non-alc.ca tickets/product can enter and participate in this Contest using lottery tickets/products they purchase or acquire from alc.ca only;
  3. Directors, officers, employees and independent contractors of ALC ticket lottery retailers who are, or at any point during the previous twelve (12) month period prior to entering the entry for the applicable draw were, in any manner, engaged in, or who directly managed or supervised those engaged in any manner in, the handing of ALC lottery tickets, including without limitation, the activation, sale, validation or the redemption of ALC lottery tickets; NOTE: notwithstanding this (iii), directors, officers, employees and independent contractors of ALC ticket lottery retailers otherwise excluded from participating in this Contest by (iii) who have not entered non-alc.ca tickets/product to attempt to participate or gain entries in this Contest can enter and participate in this Contest using lottery tickets/products they purchase or acquire from alc.ca only, however, they will not be eligible to enter or participate in any manner and cannot be entitled to receive any prize in the Contest at any time if at any time they enter any lottery tickets/products to attempt to participate or gain entries in this Contest that are not purchased or acquired from alc.ca.
  4. Those people that currently, or at any point during the previous twelve (12) month period prior to entering the entry for the applicable draw, directly or indirectly:
    1. provide goods or services to ALC related to the development, operation, maintenance, storage or distribution of ALC’s lottery systems or lottery tickets/products (online and retail) or that are employed with or under contract with an entity that provides such goods or services to ALC,
      or
    2. regulate ALC or its lottery operations (online or retail), or that are employed with or under contact with an entity that regulates ALC or its lottery operations (online and retail),
    3. or are employed with or under contract with a shareholder of ALC and have in any manner been directly involved with the affairs of ALC;
      and
    4. the terms of their relationship with ALC or their employment or contractual arrangement with an entity referred to in a) or c) above specifically prohibits the person from purchasing or playing some or all of the ALC lottery products eligible to participate in this Contest (i.e. “Eligible Products” as defined below) at any point during the Contest Period
  5. SplashDot Inc.’s directors, officers and employees; and;
  6. Persons domiciled with and/or an Immediate Family Member of any person referred to in (i) to (v) above, excluding any person referred to in (ii) or (iii) above that is entitled to and can participate through alc.ca purchases only as referred to in (ii) and (iii) above (Note: if a person referred to in (ii) or (iii) is or becomes ineligible to participate due to entering non-alc.ca tickets/product at any time, the person(s) domiciled with or an Immediate Family Member of this person will not be eligible to participate in this Contest or be entitled to a prize at any time). Note: “Immediate Family Members” includes the spouse or common-law partner of any person referred to in (i) to (v) above, and the following relations of both the individual identified above and their spouse or common-law partner: parents, children, grandchildren, siblings (and their spouses or common-law partners).

IDENTITY VERIFICATION

Proof of eligibility, age and residency will be required from all potential winners prior to disbursement of any draw prizes. Eligibility decisions are made by ALC and are final with respect to the eligibility of any entry and the award of any prize.

REGISTRATION

Visit 2Chance.ca or alc.ca to register for an alc.ca account. If you fail to successfully complete the registration/verification process required to obtain an alc.ca Account and become a Player, you will be assigned an Unverified Account. If you are assigned an Unverified Account at any point during the Contest, you will not be able to participate in the Contest. Registration is free and there is no purchase required. Only one account registration is permitted per person. If you are assigned an Unverified Account or at any point during the Contest become unverified, contact Atlantic Lottery at 1-877-252-3287.

If you already have an alc.ca account, simply sign-in to your alc.ca account and click on the 2Chance button to access your 2Chance account. You can also sign-in to your alc.ca account from 2Chance.ca by clicking “Sign In” in the top right-hand corner and enter your alc.ca sign-in information.

If you deactivate your alc.ca account this will also deactivate your 2Chance account and you will no longer be eligible for any 2Chance draws and prizes as you must have a verified alc.ca account in order to qualify or claim a prize.

EXPIRY OF ENTRIES

Commencing from the Effective Date or such later time as ALC posts on alc.ca, entries will expire and will not be available for assignment into a draw in the event of ”Participant Inactivity”. “Participant Inactivity” is reached when a participant in this Contest has not participated in a monthly draw under the Contest for any twelve (12) consecutive monthly draws (this is a rolling period).
Notes:

  1. In the event of Participant Inactivity, all entries earned but not assigned up to the date Participant Inactivity is reached will expire. This means, for example, entries earned the week immediately prior to Participant Inactivity being reached will expire; it also means unassigned entries earned prior to the 12-month period leading up to Participant Inactivity being reached also expire.
  2. The trigger of not participating in twelve (12) consecutive monthly draws leading up to Participant Inactivity being reached is a rolling period, and is not restricted to the 12 monthly draws in any calendar year (ex. is not restricted to the April monthly draw and the 11 subsequent monthly draws)
  3. In determining Participant Inactivity, participating in a draw means having entries assigned in the draw available to be drawn for a prize. Assigning entries and subsequently unassigning them so that they do not participate in the draw will not prevent the status of “Participant Inactivity” from being reached.
  4. Players will be able to get expiry information in relation to earned entries from the History Page of their 2Chance.ca account.

SELF EXCLUSION

If you choose to Self-Exclude through alc.ca, you will not have access to your 2Chance account prohibiting you from being able to enter any tickets purchased in-store or assign any entries into any draws. Any entries earned and assigned prior to the self-exclusion status will be eligible to participate in the associated draw(s). Any eligible unassigned entries will remain in your 2Chance account until you have completed the re-instatement process and are no longer self-excluded and may assign the entries.

ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS

ALC will post and maintain a current list of products eligible to participate in the Contest (“Eligible Products”) on 2Chance.ca. Refer to the Eligible Tickets page on the 2Chance.ca site for the list of current Eligible Products. Participants will not earn entries from products not listed as eligible on the site.

ALC reserves the right to update this list of Eligible Products at any time and without notice.

Any cancelled tickets purchased on alc.ca or at retail are not Eligible Products and will not be eligible for this Contest.

Self-excluded members’ purchases made on alc.ca at a time when the member was not self-excluded will be eligible for entry.

Members’ on a Break will not be able to earn entries from alc.ca purchases during the break period but will still be able to access their 2Chance account by signing into their alc.ca account to enter Scratch ’N Win, Draw, PRO-LINE tickets purchased at your local retailer and assign any entries to prizes.

GROUP PURCHASE OF ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS

Eligible Products that are purchased by a group of people (“group purchase”) do qualify for entry into the 2Chance Contest, subject to the 2Chance Rules and Regulations and the provisions outlined below. To enter group purchases, a member of the group (“group captain”) must sign-in to an existing alc.ca account or create a new alc.ca account and agree to the official rules. The group captain is assuming responsibility to register group purchases for and on behalf of that group only (not to obtain entries for the group captain, other group members or persons, or other groups). Unless determined otherwise by ALC in its absolute and unfettered discretion, ALC will contact and deal with the group captain only in all matters related to the administration and execution of the 2Chance Contest, including payment or delivery of prizes. ALC assumes no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the entitlement to any prize of any group or group member. By participating in the Contest as a group member, each member of the group fully agrees to and accepts these Official 2Chance Rules and Regulations and agrees and accepts that the requirements, obligations, terms and conditions set out herein apply to the group and each group member. Each group member must meet all eligibility requirements to qualify to participate in this Contest. In its absolute and unfettered discretion, ALC may disqualify entries and not pay/deliver prizes for non-compliance with these Rules and Regulations.

CONTEST ENTRY

To enter the 2Chance contest there are four (4) ways to enter and earn entries using Eligible Products:

  1. Enter eligible winning and non-winning Scratch ’N Win tickets by signing in or registering for an alc.ca account at alc.ca or at 2Chance.ca and click Enter Tickets on the 2Chance.ca site and enter the unique 21-digit code at the bottom of the ticket. 2Chance.ca will recognize that the ticket being entered is a Scratch ’N Win ticket and the box to enter the 4-digit VAL. #/NO. will appear. The 4-digit VAL.#/NO. is located under the scratched play area of the ticket. Players will also be able to scan their ticket on 2Chance.ca using their mobile device camera to enter the ticket in the contest. This action will not validate if it is a winning or non-winning ticket but will confirm the number of 2Chance entries earned. Players will need to allow 2Chance.ca access to their mobile device camera in order to scan the ticket on 2Chance.ca.
  2. Enter eligible winning and non-winning Draw and PRO-LINE tickets purchased in-store with the 2Chance logo printed on it by signing in or registering for an alc.ca account on alc.ca or on 2Chance.ca and click Enter Tickets on the 2Chance.ca site. Enter the unique 25-character alphanumeric code printed on the ticket underneath the 2Chance logo on the bottom of the draw or PRO-LINE ticket. Players will also be able to scan their ticket on 2Chance.ca using their mobile device camera to enter the ticket in the contest. This action will not validate if it is a winning or non-winning ticket but will confirm the number of 2Chance entries earned. Players will need to allow 2Chance.ca access to their mobile device camera in order to scan the ticket on 2Chance.ca.
  3. Download the Atlantic Lottery Mobile App, sign in to your alc.ca account and open the ticket checker and scan your Scratch ’N Win, Draw or PRO-LINE ticket and the 2Chance entries will automatically be entered. If you are not signed into the Atlantic Lottery Mobile app and you scan a ticket, it will prompt you to sign in. When you successfully sign into the app, the last ticket you scanned will automatically be entered.
  4. Earn entries from eligible online purchases from alc.ca by signing in or registering for an alc.ca account either on alc.ca or 2Chance.ca. Entries for 2Chance from eligible purchases made through your alc.ca account will be applied to your 2Chance account at the end of every day. Please allow for up to 24 hours after purchase for entries to appear in your 2Chance account.

Every $1 worth of eligible Scratch ‘N Win, Draw, PRO-LINE and iBingo products entered in 2Chance in accordance with these Rules and Regulations, will earn a participant one (1) entry to the Pick your Prize draw.

Every $3 of eligible Instant Wins (all games on alc.ca found here: https://www.alc.ca/content/alc/en/play-online/instant-win-games.html) purchases entered in 2Chance in accordance with these Rules and Regulations, will earn a participant one (1) entry to the Pick your Prize draw.

Every $10 of eligible Casino purchases entered in 2Chance in accordance with these Rules and Regulations, will earn a participant one (1) entry to the Pick your Prize draw.

Participants will be able to track the status of earning entries on 2Chance.ca under 2Chance History when they are signed into their account.

DRAWS

  1. Monthly Pick Your Prize Entry:

    During each twelve (12) month period, prize draws will occur according to the Figure 2 table for MONTHLY PRIZE DRAWS under PRIZING AND DRAWS. There are twelve (12) “Prize Draws”, one for each of the Contest Date periods referred to in Figure 1. For each of the twelve (12) Prize Draws, participants have the option to submit entries into one (1) of twelve (12) separate draws; each of the twelve (12) separate draws has three (3) separate prize packages. Entries entered into one of the twelve (12) separate draws will not participate in the other draws. Entries can be assigned at any time , but options are limited to the Prize Draws that are active at time of entry assignment. Each entry can only be assigned to a Prize Draw once. A participant can choose to move around their assigned entries between the prizes during the Monthly Draw period by choosing the number of entries from a particular prize, selecting the Remove button. The number of entries will be moved back to the Unassigned Entry status and the participant can assign them to a different prize. A participant is able to auto-assign all of their entries for any of the three (3) prizes available that month by selecting the auto-assign function. If the participant has the auto-assign feature turned on, all entries earned in that month will automatically go directly towards the prize. At the start of each month, all auto-assign entries will be reset, and the participant will need to sign into their account and select a new prize for entries to auto-assign. Entries earned by entering Eligible Products that are Scratch, Draw and PRO-LINE tickets will appear immediately in the account under the Unassigned Entries tab once the tickets have been successfully entered. Any entries earned through alc.ca purchases will take up to 24 hours after purchase to appear in the 2Chance account and can be found under the Unassigned Entries tab. Entries earned from alc.ca purchases on the final day of Monthly Draw 1 through 11 will only be able to be assigned to subsequent waves due to the delay of flex entries appearing in the 2Chance account. For example, any entries earned from alc.ca purchases made on June 30, 2022 will only be able to be assigned to prizes in July 2022. The schedule for assigning flex entries for the Pick Your Prize draws will be as follows:

Any Instant Win purchase values submitted that do not meet the $3 and any Casino purchase values submitted that do not meet the $10 thresholds will accumulate until that threshold is reached and then entries will be earned accordingly.

If there is a discrepancy between ticket values submitted and entries earned, the entries earned as indicated by the system used to administer the Contest will prevail. Decisions regarding entry adjustments remain at the sole discretion of ALC.

Entries earned will be determined by the original purchase price of the Eligible Product, regardless of any discounts.

Entries cannot be:

  • Transferred to another person, player or account,
  • Redeemed or returned for cash value,
  • Represented as cash value, or
  • Purchased.

Throughout the contest, ALC may, in its discretion, add additional Bonus Draws or prizing to the 2CHANCE CONTEST or may offer opportunities or features to add additional entries for the Contest through multipliers and bonus codes and these Official Rules will apply to such Bonus Draws/Prizing or opportunities/features. This also includes if the number of entries for any draw exceeds a pre-determined amount established by ALC in advance of the draws, in with case ALC can make subset draws from all entries received.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To obtain a no purchase online code (“No Purchase Code”) for one entry, an eligible entrant must send a request in writing, including: (a) the entrant’s first and last name, age, and valid email address associated to the entrant’s alc.ca account; and, (b) a reasonable, unique and original hand drawn facsimile of the 2Chance logo by mailing the request (in an envelope with sufficient Canadian postage) to: Atlantic Lottery Corporation - 2Chance Program P.O. Box 6160 Moncton, N.B. E1C 0C6 (collectively, a “No Purchase Code Request”). Limit of one (1) No Purchase Code Request per envelope with sufficient postage (maximum of one (1) No Purchase Code will be sent per No Purchase Code Request). The No Purchase Code will be delivered via an email to the email address the entrant provided; No Purchase Code Requests that do not indicate a valid email address associated with an alc.ca account will be ineligible to receive a No Purchase Code. Drawings of the 2Chance logo that are photocopied or otherwise produced or reproduced by mechanical or electronic means and/or that are not reasonable, unique, and original are void. To be eligible, No Purchase Code Requests must be received no later than the end of the Contest Period. AL is not responsible for delayed or no delivery of a No Purchase Code Request or providing an No Purchase Code prior to the end of the Contest Period.

Note: The purchase of an Eligible Product will not improve or affect the chances of winning, as compared to the use of the equivalent No Purchase Code method of entry.

PRIZING AND DRAWS

All draws will adhere to the draw procedures established by ALC and will be conducted according to the schedule in Figure 2(below), or as soon as possible thereafter. At time of draw, alternate entries will be drawn immediately after. If an entry is disqualified by ALC, the alternate entry will be declared the potential winner. ALC reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not abide by these Rules and Regulations.

ALC is not responsible for commencing, continuing or completing a draw or awarding prizes if: (i) a regulatory body with authority over ALC and/or the Contest states that it has reservations of a regulatory nature about any element of the Contest or in ALC offering or operating the Contest (ii) in the event of circumstances beyond the reasonable control of ALC (iii) if doing so will result in the Contest not being administered as intended by these Rules and Regulations (iv) or if doing so may adversely affect the fairness, integrity or reputation of the Contest or the integrity or reputation of ALC, all in ALC’s unfettered discretion.

ALC has the right, at its sole discretion, to make prize substitutions of equivalent kind and value in the event of unavailability of any specified prize or a price change of 20% or more between the time the prize was posted and the time of prize claim.

Participants are eligible to win more than 1 prize within the Contest Period. ALC is under no obligation to re-draw for unclaimed prizes.

The odds of winning a prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received for the applicable draw. Participants can see how many entries are allotted to a given prize draw at any time by visiting the Prizes or 2Chance History pages on the 2Chance.ca site.

WINNERS AND WIN NOTIFICATIONS:

Potential winners must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in these Rules and Regulations to be declared a winner and be eligible to claim a prize.

To be declared a winner, a participant must have an active alc.ca account, in good standing, at the time of the relevant draw(s). Any participants whose account has been closed, suspended, cancelled or that is otherwise not in good standing at the time of the relevant draw(s), will forfeit any active Contest entries and will not be eligible to win a prize.

Potential winners will be notified using the contact information provided at time of registration. Participants are responsible for ensuring their contact information is up to date under their alc.ca account. Potential winners will be contacted by telephone or from the email address AtlanticLotteryWinners@alc.ca.

If the eligibility information required is not received by ALC after seven (7) business days from the initial contact date, ALC shall have the right to disqualify the entry. In these cases, the alternate entry drawn immediately after the disqualified entry will be eligible to win the prize. ALC is fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in these cases.

Winners must correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill testing question. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Winners must also complete a declaration and release confirming eligibility and compliance with these Rules and Regulations and release ALC and their shareholders, directors, officers, employees and agents from any liability in connection with the conduct of the Contest or the awarding of prizes before being eligible to claim a prize. This includes a publicity release that grants ALC, and their affiliates the right, but not the obligation, to use, edit or adapt their photograph, filmed or recorded image, name and city of residence in any publicity campaigns, whether such campaigns are related to 2Chance or not, without further notice or compensation. Failure to complete these forms will result in disqualification.

GENERAL RULES

  1. If the participant is found to have entered falsified or incorrect information, and/or if the participant does not meet eligibility requirements, that participant and all of their entries will be disqualified and the participant will not be eligible to win any Contest prizes.

    ALC reserves the right to disqualify any participant they find to be tampering with entries or the draw process, or acting in violation of these Rules and Regulations.

    ALC - and their affiliated and related companies, advertising, internet and promotional agencies, independent contest organization, prize suppliers and their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns - are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the promotion or administration of 2Chance, including but not limited to:

    • Errors in advertising,
    • Rules and regulations,
    • The selection and announcement of winners, or
    • The distribution of prizes.
    Entries that have been obtained or made through fraudulent means will be removed from the draw.

    Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the operation of a draw is a violation of criminal and civil laws. ALC reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution, for any such attempt.
  2. Decisions of Atlantic Lottery with respect to this Contest are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility and procedure.
  3. Except as otherwise specified in these Contest rules, winners must accept prizes as awarded.
  4. All entries become the property of ALC who assumes no responsibility for garbled, illegible, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. Requests for official contest Rules and Regulations or names of prize winner(s) can be mailed to: Atlantic Lottery, PO Box 5500, 922 Main St., Moncton, NB, E1C 8W6 (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). ALC does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of ALC, in its/their sole discretion, the contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected in any manner, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its/their control, AL reserves its/their right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend or suspend the contest including canceling any method of entry, and select a winner from previously received eligible entries. AL reserves their right to modify the official Rules and Regulations of this Contest without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. ALC reserves their right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest or to be acting in violation of these official Rules and Regulations or otherwise in a disruptive manner.
  5. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By entering this contest, each entrant consents to the collection, use and distribution of his/her personal information (information that identifies an entrant as an individual, such as home telephone number, age and home address) by ALC for the purposes of implementing, administering and fulfilling this contest. ALC will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering this contest. ALC is committed to ensuring the privacy of its players and taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure player information is safeguarded. In all cases, information is retained in secure facilities and protected from unauthorized access. AL will only use or disclose player information for the specific purposes for which it was collected, unless required by law, and will only retain the information long enough to fulfill these purposes, after which time it will be securely destroyed.
  6. These official rules govern the promotion and must be followed. In the event of any discrepancy between these official rules and any other material, these rules prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
